JESS NEAVE Artist Biography Jesse studied Ceramics and Sculpture at RMIT, Melbourne. After 10 years exploring various disciplines (including Aerial Circus Arts) she is currently focussing largely on Painting and Cartooning. She has had many successful solo and group exhibitions, and left her colourful and often controversial impression in Melbourne, Sydney, Barcelona and London. Residency “I remember pinching myself after a week in Room 3 – I must have been dreaming! My quiet, warm studio haven was perfectly juxtaposed with the exciting and energetic world that is the hotel. The staff and other long term residents quickly became like family and were a constant source of inspiration, motivation and amusement! Room 3 gave me the physical and mental space to focus on my drawing without distraction (unless of course, I wanted to be distracted!) I feel blessed as an artist and a human to have been a part of the residency program – thank you!” Gardening Tips My stay coincided with the wettest and coldest Sydney winter on record so the garden won’t remember me, unfortunately! I can, however, say without doubt that it is the most magical roof garden in Sydney – a true oasis.
